How does the tracer dart work? If I shoot an enemy vehicle with a tracer dart, can I aim my M2CG anywhere and it will go to the dart?

Tracer darts work with RPG-7's. Most effective in taking down the Apaches. If you can get the tracer dart to attach to the apache, then all you do is aim your rpg towards the red hit box on the apache. Once you aim on it, it will lock on. Then you can fire your RPG from anywhere and it will home in on the tracer to kill the apache.
You can also do this with tanks.
Takes some practice, but it can be pretty effective vs just taking open shots at your enemy.

the dart works on all vehicles, and PERSONNEL. the RPG and the M2 carl are dart friendly, the M136 AT4 is not, it will not track the dart. You can dart a tank and fir the rpg or carl over a bldg, rock and it will go for the tank, better if line of sight, but still can get hits.
also look in multiplayer (in main game screen), than weapons and gagets and you can click on all items and get details as well.
